Who We Are
45+ Years of Experience
We've been building on the Grand Strand since 1987 — from Barefoot Landing to the House of Blues to hundreds of restaurants, bars, and commercial projects across the region.
Our Story
Built from the Ground Up
After years of working up and down the East Coast, Greg moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 1987 to serve as project supervisor over the construction and development of Barefoot Landing — one of the Grand Strand's most iconic destinations. From there, he went on to oversee the building of the House of Blues, Alligator Adventure, and Barefoot Resort.
In 2003, Greg founded Gregory Hunt Builders to bring that same level of hands-on leadership to clients across the region. Since then, our team has built and remodeled restaurants, bars, retail businesses, and commercial projects for a wide range of clients — private owners, local municipalities, developers, and everyone in between.
What hasn't changed is how we work. Our leadership is on every job site. We manage every trade. We answer every call. When you hire us, you get our team — not a project manager you've never met.
How We Work
What Sets Our Team Apart
Hands-On Leadership
Our principals are on every job site. We don't manage from a distance — we're in the field alongside our crews from day one.
On-Time Delivery
In the restaurant and hospitality business, every day of delay costs money. We build realistic schedules and we hit them.
Local Knowledge
We've been working with Grand Strand inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors for decades. That network is your advantage.
Unlimited License
We hold an unlimited commercial contractor license in South Carolina — meaning no project is too large for our team to take on.
Our Community
Rooted in the Grand Strand Since 1987
Greg came to Myrtle Beach to build Barefoot Landing and never left. That's not a marketing line — it's the truth. Our team has spent nearly four decades building the landmarks, restaurants, and venues that define this community. We live here, we work here, and we take pride in every structure that carries our name. From Myrtle Beach to Conway, from Surfside to North Myrtle, the Grand Strand is home — and we build it like it is.
Let's Build Something Together.
We take every call personally. Tell us about your project and we'll get back to you the same day.
